Death surely comes to us

Death surely comes to us

A few days ago, I heard some sad story about death and that remind me of my story. The story that I think about is the story of my grandfather. He died at eighty years old because of heart failure. It made me think of the fact that we can not run away from death, so do what you want to do before it is too late.

My grandfather was dead last year. He had Diabetes, Hypertension, Glaucoma, and Nephropathy for many years. One day in the afternoon, he breathed slower than usual, so he was sent to the hospital and admitted immediately. While he was in the ICU, his heart stopped beating for three times and had pulmonary oedema symptom. Soon after he stayed unconsciously for two days in the hospital, he could not make it and rest in peace by heart failure.

What I have learnt from my grandfather’s death is; if you want to do something, just do it. Do not wait until it is too late. From the story; there is one day before I went home from visiting my grandfather, I did not go into the ICU and say goodbye to him as usual. Although I wanted to go inside, I was too afraid that I would cry again. Next day I found that he passed away, and after I heard that I was shocked and thought that why yesterday I did not say goodbye to him. From that moment on, I could not see his face or talk to him again. That was my wrong decision and my stupid idea.

Death surely comes to us, live your life and do what you want. Just like my story that I did not say goodbye to my grandfather and before I realized, it was too late. Do what you want and do your best because you never know that when you or your beloved people will die.

  1. Thanks for sharing such an intimate experience Ant. I think ater we see death up close and personal, we have a new feeling about life.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
    Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
    To-morrow will be dying.
