Whenever you think of handicrafts, what do you think they are frequently made of? They can be made of dried bamboo leaves, wood, or metal. In fact, they might be made of the very fragile material like glasses.
Since I studied the selective course in 2014, Non-Formal Education for the Elderly, in the Faculty of Education, I had taught them how to create beautiful glasses as a part of the course’s individual project using Malcolm Knowles’ Learning Contract to plan my work. It is easily called “the glass painting.”
Now, let me tell you how to create this kind of beautiful handicrafts.
First, you need to prepare some glasses, a set of glass painting colours, and patterns taken from cartoon books or downloaded from the internet, or even drawn by yourself. If you would like to buy glasses and colours, away from Chula, the nearest store you can buy is at the fourth floor of Siam Paragon. It costs just ten baht a glass. A set of painting colours costs about two hundred baht.
After buying glasses, it is needed to soak glasses you bought in water for an hour to remove the sticker easily.
Now, it is time to express your ideas on your glasses. After making sure that your glasses are clean, select you favourite pattern you get and put inside your glasses for painting.
The next step is to draw the lines of you patterns with the drawing glue. After that, paint you glass with your favourite colour and dry for an hour.
After the painted glass is dry, you may feel happy when finishing your beautiful masterpiece of glass. It is very easy, isn’t it? Additionally, you can also paint other kind of glass like mirrors if you want to.
